Redesign your website affects your rankings

Did you see a drop in your rankings after a redesign?

John Mueller of Google was asked about that and he said “Yes, if you do a redesign of a site, it can affect how search engines see your site. It’s good to consider SEO when doing a redesign.”

The question was specifically asked around the helpful content update and a drop in the keywords after changes in the blog design.

John Mueller added “It is not a matter of “recovering” – if you change your site, it’s a different site, and it will show up like that in search.”
